Retro Game Explosion!

By Faran Thomason

High-tech, modern equipment have not only made human life easier and convenient but also exciting and interesting. Video games are the latest examples of such advancement. Next Genreation gaming systems are not only popular among kids but also adults as they offers high sensory entertainment and fun. They are also a wonderful way to keep children engaged, allowing parents to manage their household chores. If you browse around the market, you will find products of many different brands with different price tags, but it is important to choose the ones that are durable, fast and user-friendly.

Why is it hat your old Nintendo is worth so much money? Why are people so interested in old obsolete hardware? What could be so attractive about it? As games advance and the graphics get better it seems that one of the most important parts is left out. The fun level of the games! With competition in the video game industry now being so aggressive game developers are focusing more and more on how the game looks and not on the entertainment value. Back in the day games did not look that great and although marketing focused a part of their energy on the graphics the majority was spent on the gameplay.

The generation of today is more familiar with real-time online video games and ones that are virtual reality based. But, if you are someone who wants to let himself away from the hyper-stimulation of modern games, you should try out some of the most popular games of yesteryears. Classic or retro video games as they are normally referred still can be bought everywhere today from the flea markets to NES classic mini at Target!

Games from all versions of Nintendo, SEGA as well as others like Coleco Vision will be accessible with a variety of different retro gaming hardware. Games like “Pac-Man”, “Space Invaders”, and others are available at Target and Best Buy. They bring excitement and fun of a different kind to current and future generations to play because, they bring a style of gameplay that you can’t associate with the fast and sometimes furious games of the current times.

It would not be very difficult and would be in their best interest of any of these gaming companies to port over all the most highly successful retro games and then charge a small fee for them on their current systems. It seems like these companies have forgotten about these games and focused on current games for their consoles. It seems like a shame that porting old retro games onto newer system isn’t done more as there are a lot of rare games for these retro consoles that can go for hundreds of dollars.

Do you still play your older video games consoles Sega genesis, Super Nintendo, Atari  a lot more than your newer console ? Do you feel the games are easier to get into and not as complex. A lot of newer games now are so advanced that it takes a lot of time and dedication to get good at it or even figure it out. I think this can be negative especially when most people just want to play a game you can get right into. Although it’s great that we have these beautiful graphics what good overall is it and what fun if the game is so complex that the majority of your market cannot play it as well as enjoy these games and the gaming experience?
